Hi {!firstname_fix},

Tracey Trimmer has a list she calls the 5 "Fat-Making" Lies. They are diet rules most of us have heard so often that we never question them. Here are the first three, and what she says about each one.

Lie 1: "You must eat fewer calories to lose weight."
Tracey says restrictive diets work against your metabolism. You may lose weight in the short term, but she says most of what comes off on a crash diet is water and muscle, not fat. And losing muscle makes it easier for fat to come back once the diet ends.

Lie 2: "You must eat low-fat food."
Her view is that you need fat in your diet, the right kinds, and that "low-fat" products have done more harm than good. Her program includes recipes built around the fats she recommends.

Lie 3: "You must go low-carb to lose weight quickly."
Tracey says low-carb can't work over the long haul. You need carbohydrates for energy, and part of her method is finding the carbs that suit your own body.

[Personal touch: add one sentence about which of these rules you believed the longest.]

I'll send you the last two lies in a day or two.
